    Description

We’re getting back to business with some live outdoor events exclusively at Dead Wax on their iconic Duck Bath Stage. Natalie Jenkins and James Attwood formed Hunger Moon in the aptly named creative quarter of Birmingham in 2017. Both dissatisfied with previous musical ventures, the duo soon discovered a songwriting partnership that relied solely on their own thoughts and feelings, and an infatuation with the late Jeff Buckley.Since their 2018 Rough Trade Records supported debut single ‘Oh Friend’, Hunger Moon have performed a multitude of shows and festivals up and down the country, sharing stages with the likes of Adam French, CHARLOTTE, Art School Girlfriend, and Orla Gartland. In late 2019, the duo embarked on their first string of shows overseas in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands, further growing their dedicated listenership.Hunger Moon’s recent singles ‘Patience’ and ‘Promises’ have garnered support from the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and Mahogany, ahead of the release of their eagerly anticipated debut EP.For fans of: Daughter, Sylvan Esso, and Oh Wonder.Hunger Moon Links: Facebook | Instagram | SpotifyCheck out the live video for ‘Honey’ below:Leon C is a young contemporary folk singer songwriter born in Southampton Hampshire. From the age of 7 Leon had taken a deep interest and found a love for music by artists from the era of his father in the 60s and mother in the 70s and 80s. After 9 years of playing guitar with classical training, Leon began mixing his love for poetry and vintage music with his more modern influences to create poetically inflected, contemporary folk music. Two years later and after releasing his debut album “Please” in 2018, he is out with a new set of songs, playing with both a band and solo and bringing new stories to audiences around the Uk.Leon C Links: Facebook | Instagram | TwitterWatch Leon C live at the O2 Academy below:After early support from BBC Introducing and a string of live shows, with the likes of Fenne Lilly and Allman Brown, the Midlands artist Matt Millard showed great promise early on in his solo career back in 2017.A talented producer and multi-instrumentalist, Matt’s work is often completed behind the scenes, producing work for other artists such as fellow Midlands singer-songwriter Jessie Reid. However, after taking some time out from music, spending months travelling across South East Asia and Australia, Millard returned home in late 2019, inspired and energised by his experiences abroad. The Birmingham indie-folk released stunning single ‘Oma’ . Delivering a textured, cinematic soundscape alongside Matt’s yearning vocal, combining the electronic and organic to beautiful effect. His most accomplished work to date.“Absolutely gorgeous” – BBC Introducing West MidlandsFollowing the release of Oma, Matt’s musical career gained momentum, seeing him support Johnny Lloyd (Tribes frontman) in Birmingham on his UK tour, along with playing a sold-out BBC Introducing show at the Sunflower Lounge. Now as the world re-opens after months of lockdown, Matt Millard has new projects in the works, and looks to pick up where he left off – There’s definitely still more to come from the 27-year-old singer-songwriter.Matt Millard Links: Instagram | Facebook | Soundcloud
